2. Sound in Focus
Who:Â Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Nas, Wild Belle, Imarhan and more
When: Saturdays — July 9, July 16, July 23 — 7-10PM
Where: Outdoor courtyard at the Annenberg Space for Photography
Why: A lot of big name headliners at this year’s Sound in Focus. When else can you see Edward Sharpe and Nas for free?
3. Saturdays Off the 405
Who:Â Moses Sumney, Kevin Morby, Diane Coffee, The Garden/The Muffs and more.
When: Saturdays — June 18, July 9, July 23, August 27 — 6-9PM
Where:Â Outdoor museum courtyard at the Getty Center
Why: From budding local Los Angeles acts such as Mose Sumney to 90s Nostalgia with The Muffs, Saturday’s Off the 405 always bring variety and a damn good time in a beautiful setting. Oh, and we LOVE Diane Coffee.
4. Skirball Cultural Center Sunset Concerts
Who: Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, M.A.K.U. Soundsystem, Songhoy Blues and more
When: Thursdays — July 21, July 28, Aug. 4, Aug. 11, Aug. 18, Aug. 25 — 7-10PM
Where: Outdoor courtyard at the Annenberg Space for Photography
Why: Known for its beautiful hillside location, the Skirball is also a win win because of its selections of live music that span the globe. From indie to West African desert blues, the Skirball’s going off!
5. Disappear Here: Music Made in L.A.
Who: Poolside, Peanut Butter Wolf, Ceci Bastida, TOKiMONSTA and more.
When: Thursdays — July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28 — 6:30-9PM
Where: Outdoor courtyard at the Hammer Museum
Why: It looks like the Hammer wants you to dance this year. With the Stones Throw crew, TOKiMONSTA and Ceci, get ready to burn those calories from the happy hour.
